عنعراقي زييين

IRAQi ZINE officially launched in 2025. The seed was planted in 2023 when Mohammed Almzin proposed a small zine-making workshop. By 2024 the workshop had grown into a wider creative platform, and in 2025 the first printed issue went out into the world.

We make zines because pages are slower than feeds, because print holds memory differently, and because Iraqi voices belong on paper as much as anywhere else. Each issue is a collaboration between writers, photographers, and illustrators from across Iraq and the diaspora. We work with care, we work slowly, and we publish only what feels honest.

About the editor. Mohammed Almzin is a Diyala-based artist, illustrator, and communication officer at Creative Iraq Consulting. He has worked on creative projects with Goethe-Institut, Oxfam Iraq, and Oxfam Jordan across the MENA region. His practice spans comics, graphic design, and editorial work focused on community storytelling.

What we believe. Voices are evidence. Print is resistance. Slow is on purpose.

انطلق عراقي زييين رسميًا في عام 2025. زُرعت البذرة الأولى عام 2023 حين اقترح محمد المزن إقامة ورشة صغيرة لصناعة الزين. وفي عام 2024 تطوّرت الورشة إلى منصة إبداعية أوسع، ثم خرج العدد المطبوع الأول إلى الناس في 2025.

نصنع الزين لأن الصفحات أبطأ من الخلاصات، ولأن الورق يحفظ الذاكرة بطريقة مختلفة، ولأن الأصوات العراقية تستحق الورق كما تستحق أي مكان آخر. كل عدد عمل جماعي بين كتّاب ومصوّرين ورسامين من داخل العراق وخارجه. نشتغل بهدوء، نشتغل ببطء، ولا ننشر إلا ما يبدو لنا صادقًا.

عن المحرّر. محمد المزن فنّان ورسّام ومسؤول الاتصال في "كرييتيف العراق". اشتغل على مشاريع إبداعية مع معهد غوته وأوكسفام العراق وأوكسفام الأردن في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا. ممارسته تمتدّ من القصص المصوّرة إلى التصميم الغرافيكي إلى العمل التحريري المرتبط بحكايات المجتمع.

ما نؤمن به. الأصوات شهادة. الطباعة مقاومة. البطء قرار.
